Citril Finch

Signature birds / The Iberian System / The Pyrenees

A small bird, related to the canary and other finches, of Green, grey and yellow tones – the male is more striking then the female. Distribution limited exclusively to Europe, it inhabits conifer woods all year long, and its seasonal movements are little known.

In Aragón it can primarily be found in forests of Austrian and Scot’s Pine in the Pyrenees, Moncayo and the mountains to the southeast of Teruel. It is common, abundant even, and easily found thanks to its distinctive call.
